Service learning a small start to a bigproject

Successes

 

• we ordered recycling buckets in our last meeting 
• We got some substitute boxes.(  printing paper boxes.) 
• we are hoping to get 6 boxes for around $300. 
• Plan:  in the lunchroom and hallways there will be containers for cans and bottles.
• We have been making signs to inform our classmates to recycle the paper and cans
• The signs have little facts about recycling
• Catch phrase: I recycle ,you recycle, we recycle.
•  This group has a google group to keep in contact with one another.

Our areas to improve were/are 

• Start morning announcements
• deciding which bins to use and ordering them faster.
• getting all of this in action faster.
•  Concern is our group is going to explode - some people are not working
• I want us to Be one of the groups who passes with flying colors and succeeds.
  

My goal

•   make sure that the school recycles as much paper as we could. 
• The reason is this school uses so much paper with the mess ups and the extra prints.
• We could really be doing a great deal to help the earth by recycling all those pieces of paper. 
• my other goal is to continue recycling at home as I have been doing.
  

* Suggestion: our group should paint the boxes or put green paper on them, with the recycling sign. that way the boxes will stand out. when the boxes stand out people will pay more attention to them and recycle their paper and cans.
